Among the
hundreds of festivals that span the state of Louisiana, the most anticipated is
a culmination of music, food and cultural experience – the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Festival presented by Shell. It is hosted by the very city that is
considered the epicenter of southern hospitality, good times, good food and the
birthplace of Jazz. Where can you sing along to familiar tunes, experience new
sounds , try boiled crawfish, or even find yourself waving a hankie high above
your head in a spontaneous second line? The Big Easy welcomes you for an experience
unlike any other.
Rock music
with Jazz fusion… the sound of Dave Mathews Band fitted right in the Big Easy.
Started in the early nineties, Dave Mathew (band namesake) gathered a group of
talented jazz musicians to record some of his songs on tape. DMB has not only
become one of the TOP 100 highest selling music acts of all time, but they’ve
earned multiple Grammys, the NAACP Chairman’s Award for addressing important
issues and a plethora of other impressive honors.
At the end
of the concert, there were happy travelers who finally had a reason to think
their long journey was worth it after 2 hours of spectacular music, awesome crowd
that sang along to every song and lots of booze. Awesome concert!
